Combining online courses, hands-on training, and immersive canyon experiences, our program offers a holistic approach to canyoneering education. Course Highlights Expert Instructors: Learn from Guillaume Coupier (Western Canyoning Adventure) and FX Gagnon (West Coast Canyoning), industry leaders in Western Canada. Standards Compliance: Follow American Canyoneering Association (ACA) and Canyon Guide International (CGI) standards. Flexible Modules: Choose individual modules or the complete package, all designed for Class C Canyons in the Pacific Northwest. Blended Learning: Enjoy in-person training from Friday night to Sunday afternoon, plus 4 hours of at-home learning the week before. Modules Overview Module 1: Canyoning Essentials Duration: 3 hours (Online Meetup) Covers trip planning, risk management, eco-friendly practices, and communication strategies. Module 2: Knots and Anchors Rigging Location: Greenwood Park, North Vancouver Master essential knots, hitches, and rigging systems in this 3.5-hour workshop. Module 3: Advanced Vertical Rope Skills Location: Greenwood Park, North Vancouver Full-day course on rappelling, ascending ropes, belay methods, and rope management. Module 4: Companion Canyon Rescue Location: Greenwood Park, North Vancouver Learn canyon rescue, patient care, and evacuation techniques. Module 5: Swiftwater Canyoning Skills Location: Norrish Creek, Mission Focus on hydrology, swiftwater techniques, and rescue operations in Class C canyons. Reservation and Cancelation Policy
RESERVATION AND BOOKING POLICY To ensure a smooth reservation process and a delightful adventure with us, please carefully review and adhere to our reservation and booking policy outlined below. FULL PAYMENT AND RESERVATION GUARANTEE: To secure your reservation, full payment must be made at least 10 days prior to the activity dates. This guarantees your spot and allows us to make the necessary arrangements. Additionally, all participants must agree to the terms of our liability waivers and complete a participant form before the activity is confirmed. On the day of the activity, all participants are required to sign our liability waivers to meet insurance requirements. If you are uncomfortable with the terms, a refund will be provided, no questions asked. CANCELLATIONS AND REBOOKING: We understand that plans can change, but please note our cancellation and rebooking policy: Changes to the participation date can be requested up to ten days before the activity start date, subject to availability. An administration fee of $25 per person or a 75% refund will apply. Cancellations within 48 hours of the activity are non-refundable. Please note that cancellations and booking changes must be made in writing (via email or text) and are considered confirmed only when acknowledged by West Coast Canyoning Adventures. INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY: Safety is our top priority. In the event of inclement weather or unsafe conditions, we reserve the right to reschedule activities. If rescheduling is not possible a refund or credit will be issued. MINIMUM PARTICIPANTS THRESHOLD: To ensure an engaging experience, we have a minimum participants threshold. If an activity does not meet the minimum requirement of three participants, we may need to reschedule. However, we can offer the option to transfer participants into a private class for an additional fee. If you do not agree to this arrangement, a full refund will be provided.
